Your details
The short version: the only thing this site collects is an email address, and only if you hand it over yourself.
What is collected
If you subscribe to The Hearthside Letter, your email address is stored so the letters can be sent to you. Nothing else is asked for, and no other personal details are kept.
Nobody is added to the list without confirming. After you sign up, a confirmation email arrives and nothing is sent until you click it.
Who handles it
The list is hosted and sent by Kit (kit.com), an email service provider. Your address sits on their servers and is handled under their privacy terms. It is not sold, rented, traded, or shared with anyone else, for any reason.
Kit records ordinary email statistics — whether a letter was opened, whether a link was clicked. This is used to tell whether the letters are worth reading, and nothing more.
Leaving
Every letter carries an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are removed, immediately and without any follow-up question.
If you would rather have your details deleted outright, ask and it will be done.
This site itself
These pages set no tracking cookies and run no analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the signup form is loaded from Kit; both are standard third-party services that see your browser request as part of serving those files. The web host keeps routine server logs, as all web hosts do.
